PRIMARYFUNCTION

TheEducationProgram Specialistpositionsupports TRIUMFs Education and Student ProgramsGroupby developingcoordinatingimplementingand delivering programsrelatedto this function.This positionsupportsTRIUMFs strategic goalsto bea hub for interdisciplinary education and trainingexpanding access to STEAM(ScienceTechnologyEngineeringArts andMathematics)trainingand educationalopportunities and building Canadas talent pipeline with a focusadvancing organizational equitydiversityand inclusion(EDI)objectives.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Leadthe development launch and evolution of TRIUMFs educationprogramsdesigningmeaningful research-connected initiatives for students from high school throughgraduatelevels.
  • Designand implement new initiatives (e.g. mentorship programs workshops structured hands-on research activities professional developmentseminarsand workshops) that strengthen student engagement within TRIUMFs scientific environment and private sector partners.
  • Workcollaboratively with Talent Attraction and Student Program team to alignconsolidate and strengthen student-related initiatives across the laboratory ensuring a coordinated and cohesive student experience.
  • Serveas a key liaison for studenteducationprogramming within the organization fostering strong connections between students supervisors and divisions to support engagementwithTRIUMFs research community.
  • Buildandmaintainpartnerships with schools research collaborators communityorganizationsand professional associations (e.g. BCPTA)to expandK-12student pathways into science and research careers.
  • Monitorparticipation trends and program outcomesand prepare high-level briefings and reports forHead Education & StudentProgramsandotherstakeholders.
  • RepresentTRIUMF in outreach and academic settings promotingstudenteducationprogramming and strengthening connections within the broader scientific ecosystem.
  • IntegrateEquity Diversity and Inclusion principles across all student initiatives working with internal partners to strengthen inclusive recruitment strategies and advance Indigenous and underrepresented student participation in research pathways.

KNOWLEDGE ANDSKILL

  • Strong project management and organizational skills including planning scheduling and execution.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex scientific concepts into accessible learning content.

  • Advancedknowledgeofdatacollection analysis and evaluation methodologiesused inadult education/learninganddemonstratedability to apply thesefor education program development and review

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Familiarity withand experienceeducation technologies learning platforms and digital communication tools.

  • Flexible proactive and adaptive - able to manage multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience working with diverse populations and applying EDI-centred practices in program delivery.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSANDEXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degreeinInstructionalDesignEducationalTechnology or similardegreeAdvanceddegree or certification inthese areasis an asset.

  • Otherbachelordegrees can be accepted if also combined with a certification in Education

  • 5years of program coordination or educational services experience ideally within science research or higher education.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing learning programs or student services.

  • A background or interest in science would be an asset to this role.

Applicants must be legally able to work in Canada on a permanent basis (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident).

Salary: $92905 CAD plus our comprehensive employer-paid benefits plan
