POSITION TITLE: Elementary School TeacherGrades K-5
QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold proper certification through the Arkansas Department of
Education
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or other Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days with benefits provided according to SiloamSprings
Board Policies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in curriculum review and/or design.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Implement a variety of evidence-based instructional strategies to engage students with the essential learning standards.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs interests and abilities of the students.
- Effectively use and analyze data to adjust instruction and/or support student needs.
- Adjust instruction within the classroom (Tier 1) to meet the needs of all students reteaching or extending when needed.
- Monitor and assess student progress frequently using both formative and summative assessments and provide feedback.
- Provide student progress reports as required.
- Refer students for alternative services as provided by the District (ESL Special Education GT etc.).
- Maintain consistent and timely parent communication using appropriate structures.
- Effectively implement district initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the department (PLC) and grade level teachers.
- Meet or exceed professional responsibilities and professional behavior expectations.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Maintain accurate complete and correct records as required by law district policy and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education.
- Participate in district staff development.
