Senior Support Worker Lead Shape & Make a Lasting Difference
Salary: 14.75 per hour
Hours: 36.25 hours per week (Days)
Contract: Permanent (Full-time)
Driving: Full UK driving licence preferred (held for at least 1 year community access required)
This is more than a Senior Support Worker role - its a rare opportunity to help build a brand-new specialist service from the very beginning.
At SDR Care youll play a key role in supporting a young adult with autism a learning disability ADHD and complex behavioural needs to settle into a new home build independence and access meaningful daily experiences.
As a senior member of the team you wont just be delivering care - youll be helping to shape the culture set the standard and influence how the service operates from day one. Youll lead by example support and guide colleagues and play a vital role in creating a safe structured and genuinely person-centred environment.
The role requires experience supporting an individual who present with dysregulated behaviour which may at times include aggression. You will need to bring a calm consistent and person-centred approach ensuring safe and effective support at all times.

What Youll Be Doing
As part of this role you will:
- Lead by example promoting independence safety and positive daily experiences
- Support guide and mentor Support Workers within the team
- Deliver and embed Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
- Help establish structured routines meaningful activities and community access
- Support the development of a new service and help shape its culture and standards
- Work closely with a small skilled team to provide consistent high-quality care
- Uphold safeguarding principles and Mental Capacity Act (MCA) standards
- Respond calmly and effectively to dysregulation and complex behaviours
Who Were Looking For
Were seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in supporting individuals with autism learning disabilities or complex needs
- Confident in leadership mentoring and team development
- Skilled in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approaches
- Calm resilient and able to lead effectively under pressure
- Knowledgeable in safeguarding and MCA principles
- Positive flexible and able to bring humour into everyday support
- Experienced in behaviourally complex or intensive support environments (desirable)
