Job Summary:

The SCADA Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of SCADA systems for our renewable energy projects. This role requires an understanding of SCADA systems renewable energy technologies and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our energy assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and configure HMI screens alarms and historical data logging

  • Integrate field devices (RTUs IEDs sensors) into SCADA systems using appropriate protocols

  • Configure and maintain Ignition gateways tags UDTs and scripting logic

  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure secure and reliable OT network infrastructure

  • Monitor system performance and respond to operational issues and alarms

  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards (e.g. NERC CIP)

  • Lead or contribute to SCADA modernization and digital transformation initiatives

  • Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to optimize remote asset performance

  • Participate in incident response and recovery procedures for remote operations

  • Assist in remote commissioning and testing of field devices and control logic

  • Ensure data integrity and continuity between field systems and enterprise platforms

  • Ensure high availability and reliability of SCADA systems supporting remote operations

  • Up to 20% travel.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or related field

  • 3 years of experience in OT/SCADA systems engineering or industrial automation

  • Strong understanding of industrial protocols: Modbus DNP3 OPC UA IEC 61850

  • Familiarity with PLC programming HMI development and RTU integration

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards for OT environments (e.g. NIST ISA/IEC 62443 NERC CIP)

  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python SQL or JavaScript

  • Experience in multiple renewable energy generation technologies: Solar Wind and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness.

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to provide timely assessments with limited information and/or assumptions.

  • Excellent troubleshooting documentation and communication skills

  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Ignition Certified

    • SEL RTAC
