KCR Solutions are delighted to be supporting this fantastic growing charity based near Stockton in their search for a Finance Officer.
The role will primarily focus on managing the monthly payroll process overseeing purchase ledger activities and supporting core finance operations to ensure the smooth running of the finance function. The role reports to the Head of Finance
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full monthly payroll including PAYE pensions expenses and statutory payments.
- Process starters leavers salary changes overtime and deductions.
- Maintain accurate confidential payroll records and resolve payroll queries.
- Prepare payroll reports post journals and ensure HMRC and National Minimum Wage compliance.
- Keep payroll procedures updated for legislative changes.
- Process and code purchase invoices according to authorisation rules.
- Prepare supplier payments and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Produce and maintain the aged creditors report.
- Reconcile company credit cards and staff expense claims.
- Reconcile Charity Store income investigate discrepancies and post journal entries.
- Support improvements to finance systems and processes.
- Work within charity standards for Health & Safety quality equality and brand.
- Attend required meetings and training.
- Carry out duties appropriate to the role as needed.
Person Specification
- Extensive experience across all aspects of payroll processing.
- Experience of all aspects of purchase ledger.
- Experience preparing and posting journal entries.
- Confident using finance systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
- Charity experience preferred
- Accountancy Qualification welcomed.
Skills & Attributes
- Highly organised with strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
