Position Title: Polysomnographic Technologist
Location: The Woodlands TX (77380)
Job Type: Contract Local or Travel
Shift: Night (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 14 weeks
Job Summary:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled Polysomnographic Technologist to provide high-quality care for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic sleep studies. The technologist will perform assessments conduct sleep studies monitor physiological data and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective outcomes. This role requires strong technical expertise critical thinking and the ability to work efficiently in a clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and monitor changes during sleep studies.
- Administer sleep study procedures therapies and equipment according to protocols.
- Prepare implement and evaluate study procedures and patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to coordinate care and results.
- Document assessments interventions and outcomes accurately in the EMR.
- Educate patients and families on sleep study procedures equipment and follow-up care.
- Respond to emergencies and exercise sound clinical judgment.
- Maintain compliance with infection control safety and equipment standards.
- Support new or float staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Active Polysomnographic Technologist certification required.
- BLS certification (AHA required).
- Minimum 1 year of recent polysomnography experience in a clinical or sleep lab setting.
- Strong assessment critical-thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and standard documentation.
- Excellent communication time-management and organizational abilities.
