Job Summary

Description

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic Ultrasound examinations to pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician under the direction of a Radiologist. Performs abdominal retroperitoneal OB/GYN small part scans and ultrasound guided procedures such as cyst aspirations. Must be able to recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images.

Work Schedule: 0.6 FTE - 24 hours weekly - 3 days per week M-F daytime hours

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited two-year allied health program or two years of college with emphasis on the biological sciences and completion of a formal medical Sonography training program (one-year minimum) or equivalent experience
  • RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical sonographer) via ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)

  • If employment involves OB Clinic rotation then OB Certification (OB/GYN) via ARDMS required within 180 days of employment.
  • Current BLS - American Heart Association or BLS - American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to answer patients questions helping them to understand the procedure
  • Ability to accurately operate and maintain the imaging equipment and recognize the difference between normal and abnormal images
  • Minimum of one-year clinical experience in Ultrasound
