HybridRaytheon UK is searching for a Cloud Architect to join our OMNIA Training team.
As Training Cloud Architect you will provide technical oversight and management across the Army Collective Training Service (ACTS) Cloud based solutions and Platform approach. These will be prominently MODCloud hosted utilising Cloud Services from AWS Azure OCP where appropriate. Reporting directly to the Cloud & Platform Engineering Lead you will play a critical role in ensuring the Cloud architecture design implementation and delivery across the ACTS services and capabilities focused on driving cloud-based solutions both centrally and at the edge.
This role requires a systems-thinking mindset strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead across engineering teams in a complex and evolving environment. Given the programmes focus on modelling and simulation familiarity with relevant standards and technologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
Guiding and mentoring cloud platform engineers across multiple organisations providing technical direction and support.
Shaping the architecture and design of cloud solutions ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices.
Overseeing the design and architecture of cloud infrastructure including provisioning configuration and maintenance.
Collaborate with engineering simulation and training teams to ensure seamless integration across military training environments.
Drive operational efficiencies through cloud adoption DevSecOps and CICD.
Ensuring the security and compliance of cloud environments through the design of appropriate security controls and governance frameworks.
Select appropriate cloud services and tools balancing performance scalability and budget.
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams including QA development operations and business SMEs to validate technical requirements and designs.
Leading and participating in cloud transformation projects driving the design and adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
Author review and contribute to High-Level Design (HLD) and technical documentation.
Communicate risks issues and readiness status to project sponsors and governance boards.
Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and refining processes tools and automation.
Represent engineering interests in programme boards technical reviews and stakeholder and customer facing engagements.
Required Skills and Experience:
Core ability to design and manage solutions within one or more major cloud ecosystems.
Experience in managing business continuity and performance for data-driven applications.
Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect Professional.
Experience in managing and strong understanding of DevSecOps & CI/CD practices and pipelines.
Experience with designing mobile edge computing mesh networking or tactical cloud solutions.
Experience of: Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Docker ArgoCD Quay Elastic Stack Anchore Azure Arc GitHub GitOps Keycloak Prometheus Red Hat Ceph Advanced Cluster Security Grafana and Kafka.
Experience with cloud-native architectures (containerisation orchestration microservices).
Understanding of integrating cloud security best practices security assessments and governance frameworks.
Ability to lead technical teams and collaborate across engineering operations and training domains.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
Multi-cloud experience (AWS GCP OCI alongside primary cloud provider).
Serverless architectures (Azure Functions AWS Lambda).
Advanced networking (SD-WAN ExpressRoute Direct Connect).
Cloud security tools (Azure Security Center AWS GuardDuty).
AI/ML integration (Azure AI AWS SageMaker).
Edge computing (Azure Stack Edge AWS Outposts).
Experience integrating cloud solutions with simulation and training platforms.
