What Will You Do
The Commissioning Engineer will ensure that newly installed water treatment systems including specialized gas dissolution and contaminant removal technologies are installed tested and operate according to design specifications safety standards and regulatory requirements. This role requires a blend of technical expertise problem-solving skills and meticulous documentation abilities.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans procedures and schedules for all mechanical electrical and control systems within the water treatment plant.
- Coordinate with project managers design engineers contractors and vendors to ensure seamless execution of commissioning activities.
- Oversee and perform pre-commissioning functional performance tests (FPT) and integrated system tests to validate equipment and system functionality.
Specialized Technology Management:
- Manage the installation calibration and start-up ofSDOX (Supersaturated Dissolved Oxygen) systemsused for biological treatment post-aeration and odor/corrosion control.
- Oversee the implementation and testing ofCDOX (Dissolved Carbon Dioxide) systemsfor precise pH adjustment ensuring they safely replace strong-acid dosing methods and meet operational requirements.
- Commission and validate specialized contaminant removal systems specifically those designed for the removal ofarsenic sulfur (sulfide) and fluoride ensuring compliance with all health and environmental regulations.
Troubleshooting and Quality Assurance:
- Diagnosing and resolve complex system malfunctions and performance issues during the testing and start-up phases collaborating with design teams for corrective actions.
- Ensure all safety protocols quality standards and operational procedures are strictly followed.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential operational issues.
Documentation and Handover:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation test reports deficiency logs and as-built records.
- Provide technical support and training to operational and maintenance teams on the newly commissioned systems to ensure a smooth handover and operational readiness.
Your Experience Should Be...
- Bachelors degree in chemical Mechanical or Environmental Engineering.
- 3 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and associated mechanical electrical and control systems (PLC/SCADA P&IDs).
- Experience with advanced gas dissolution technologies (SDOX CDOX) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with contaminant removal processes for specific elements like arsenic sulfur compounds and fluoride.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings schematics and specifications.
- Ability to use testing and diagnostic equipment effectively.
