Blockchain Test Engineer Hybrid

As a Blockchain Test Engineer at S.W.I.F.T you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality reliability and security of our blockchain-based solutions. You will be responsible for designing developing and executing comprehensive test strategies to validate the functionality performance and integrity of distributed ledger technologies integrated into our financial messaging infrastructure.

What to Expect:

In this role you will:

• Design develop and implement robust test plans test cases and test scripts for blockchain applications smart contracts and related distributed systems
• Execute various types of testing including functional integration performance security and regression testing specifically tailored for blockchain environments
• Test and integrate blockchain protocols and platforms including Ethereum-compatible networks (e.g. Hyperledger Besu) Cosmos and Canton
• Test smart contracts for correctness security vulnerabilities and edge cases
• Collaborate closely with development teams and blockchain architects to understand technical specifications and ensure testability of features
• Perform load performance and stress testing to assess scalability and transaction throughput

• Validate blockchain network behavior including consensus mechanisms node synchronization and fault tolerance
• Test integrations with wallets APIs backend services
• Identify document and track software defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution
• Develop and maintain automated test frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage of blockchain testing
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes methodologies and best practices within a blockchain context
• Stay up-to-date with emerging blockchain technologies testing tools and industry trends
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance code quality and testability
• Ensure adherence to S.W.I.F.T.s quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements in all testing activities
  

What will make you successful:

We are seeking professionals with:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
• Proven (5 years) of experience in software quality assurance or testing with a significant focus on blockchain or distributed ledger technologies
• Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals including consensus mechanisms (PoW PoS BFT) smart contracts cryptography and distributed system architectures
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in blockchain development or testing (e.g. Python JavaScript Go Java Solidity)
• Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g. Selenium Playwright Jest Truffle Hardhat)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related field
• Experience with performance testing and security testing methodologies for distributed systems
• Knowledge of financial services industry standards and regulatory frameworks

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $101303.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $188135.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location.
