Job Summary

Fahrenheit Advisors is partnering with Applied Environmental Inc. a well-established environmental and facilities consulting firm in the search for aFacilities Management Engineer with 25 years of experience. This role willsupport planning budgeting and execution of facility sustainment restoration and modernization (SRM) projects for a federal government client.

This role supports a diverse portfolio of facilities projectsincluding renovations system replacements and infrastructure upgradesand requires regular on-site support at a federal facility in the DC Metro area. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented collaborative and comfortable working in a client-facing government environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Facilities Management Engineer will support the full lifecycle of facilities projects including:

  • Track schedules budgets and status of active facility projects.
  • Support project planning scope development and proposal preparation.
  • Perform design reviews for facility improvement and renovation projects.
  • Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with Performance Work Statements (PWS).
  • Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and support project requirements definition.
  • Develop preliminary project scopes and cost estimates for new and ongoing work.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and government stakeholders; prepare for and participate in meetings.
  • Prepare project execution packages including cost data schedules and risk/assumption matrices.
  • Review and consolidate existing documentation such as as-built drawings inspection reports and prior studies.
  • Support congressional data calls new project intake validation and scope refinement.
  • Provide programmatic and data analysis support within the Sustainment Management System (SMS) Builder.
  • Perform periodic analysis of DoD sustainment restoration and modernization (SRM) budgeting data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering construction management facilities management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (36 years preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously in a facilities or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong organizational project coordination and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working with federal or DoD facilities programs.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings specifications and as-built documentation.
  • Technical knowledge in one or more building systems (HVAC mechanical plumbing electrical).
  • Strong spreadsheet and data-tracking capabilities.
  • Comfortable participating in meetings with government clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to prepare summary reports presentations and technical documentation.
