Job Summary
Job Title: Phlebotomist
Location: Jamaica NY 11432
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (5 days/week rotating weekends)
Hours: 78 hours per day
Duration: Ongoing/Contract
Position Summary
A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to support patient care through accurate specimen collection and handling. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospital laboratory or blood bank settings and demonstrate strong attention to detail and patient care standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and collect blood specimens
- Accurately label process and handle laboratory samples
- Maintain patient records and documentation
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure quality patient care
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience (hospital lab or blood bank)
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) required
- AHA BLS certification required
- High School Diploma or GED with completion of a phlebotomy program
- Ability to work day shifts including rotating weekends
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
