About the role:
Were looking for an experienced and reliable Bricklayer to join our growing team supporting a busy responsive repairs contract in Rotherham. This is a practical handson role focused on delivering a wide range of bricklaying works along with Minor roofing repairs within occupied social housing properties.
With a consistent pipeline of work and a strong commitment to raising housing standards this is a great opportunity to be part of a team making a real impact in the local community. Were seeking someone who takes pride in their workmanship works efficiently and consistently delivers highquality results first time.
Duties:
- Building new brick walls
- Restoring damaged or deteriorated brickwork
- Identifying and repairing cracks or fractures in walls to prevent further damage and maintain safety
- Rendering full walls
- Mixing and applying mortar or adhesives to bind bricks and blocks
- Cutting bricks or blocks to size using hand or power tools
- Constructing foundations retaining walls and other structural elements
- Repointing brickwork to improve appearance and structural integrity
- Setting out and levelling courses to ensure accurate alignment
- Installing dampproofing or insulation materials where required
- Completing minor roofing repairs where required including:
- Replacing damaged or slipped tiles
- Carrying out smallscale felt repairs
- Making roofs safe following minor defects or leaks
- Applying decorative finishes or brick patterns as needed
- Working with other trades to coordinate site activities
- Maintaining tools and equipment and ensuring safe working practices
- Cleaning work areas and disposing of waste materials responsibly
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Role Criteria:
- Proven experience in bricklaying and confidence in carrying out all listed duties
- Flexibility to support minor roofing repair works when required
- Previous experience working within social housing environments
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and respectful approach when working in occupied properties
- Full UK driving licence

To drive a Mears vehicle you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
