Job Summary
Overview
We are seeking a dependable and attentive Laundry Attendant to support laundry services within the Housekeeping Department for our assisted living residents. This role plays an essential part in maintaining resident comfort and dignity by ensuring clothing and linens are properly cared for and returned in a timely manner.
The Laundry Attendant works as part of the Housekeeping team collaborating with staff and interacting respectfully with residents in a serviceoriented supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Collect sort wash dry fold and deliver resident clothing and linens
- Verify resident identification and garment labeling
- Follow infectioncontrol PPE and crosscontamination procedures
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment safely
- Handle soiled linens and biohazard materials appropriately
- Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages to the housekeeping team
- Communicate courteously with residents housekeeping staff and supervisors
Qualifications
What Were Looking For
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read write speak and understand English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and ability to work a full-time schedule
- Ability to acquire a fingerprint clearance card
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in laundry services housekeeping healthcare or senior living (preferred not required)
- Knowledge of infectioncontrol and sanitation practices
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Professional and respectful communication style
