About the role
The Global Customs & Trade Operations Specialist is a key role responsible for providing customs import and export support to all businesses and functions operating in the European Union and North America while also supporting other regions if needed. The role is accountable for executing trade-related requirements associated with the importation and exportation of products in line with applicable regulations and internal procedures established by Nouryon Trade Compliance and Operations. This position ensures timely and compliant deliveries to Nouryon facilities by managing import and export documentation and supporting customs entry filings. The Global Customs & Trade Operations Specialist also coordinates closely with internal stakeholders across the organization and collaborates with external parties such as customs brokers and other trade partners to secure compliant and efficient cross-border movements.
Your responsibilities as Global Customs & Trade Operations Specialist will include
- Monitor customs compliance for import and export activities ensuring adherence to international trade laws and company policies.
- Support customs clearance activities within the European Union and North America and other regions if needed including managing import declarations with customs brokers.
- Provide post-clearance review and verification of customs declarations including correct valuation and Harmonized System classification.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date certificates of origin and track Free Trade Agreement (FTA) usage and savings to identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for regulated imports (e.g. EPA FDA USDA) and ensure dangerous goods are handled and documented in line with international transport regulations.
- Audit and assess import and export declarations identify gaps and implement corrective actions while maintaining accurate records of all transactions and compliance audits.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Procurement Supply Chain Logistics) and external service providers (e.g. customs brokers freight forwarders) to resolve customs issues and align compliance with operational goals.
- Analyse and improve customs clearance processes and leverage AI-driven tools (e.g. automated classification document analysis) to enhance efficiency accuracy and risk management in trade compliance.
We believe you bring
At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Bachelors in Logistics Supply Chain Management Trade Compliance or related field.
- Fluent in English and German is highly desired/required.
- Proven experience with a customs clearance procedures and formalities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of Partner Government Agency (PGA) import processes and regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to manage complex Trade and Customs operations and improve delivery efficiency.
Great if you have
- Experience with trade compliance tools SAP GTS and data analytics for import tracking and reporting.

- Apermanent contract with a probationary period of 6 months
- A gross basic annual salary based on your knowledge and experience between EUR 60000 and EUR 80.000

This is a permanent position on a full-time basis based in Dublin this role you report to the Global and EU Trade Operations Leader who is also based in Dublin.
