POSITION SUMMARY
Our Night Porter is responsible for fulfilling assigned housekeeping and maintenance duties in the communitys general area during the night shift. The position is full time with 4x 10-hour shifts and includes weekends.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate floor cleaning machines and clean hard surfaces and carpets as directed.
- Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition including empty apartments common areas and outside spaces.
- Wash sanitize dust polish vacuum mop and sweep all areas of the establishment.
- Follow community cleaning schedule and protocol according to community guidelines and follow established safety precautions.
- Report all repair requests or safety hazards.
- Laundry duties as assigned.
- Ensure that equipment tools supplies etc. are always properly stored.
- Perform routine building maintenance rounds as directed completing tasks such as painting wall patching floor care pressure washing and basic plumbing repairs.
- Work within the legal scope of local and state codes.
- Respect residents privacy and preferences while cleaning their living spaces.
- Build positive relationships with residents by engaging in friendly respectful interactions.
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to instructions.
- Follow infection control and sanitation protocols including the proper handling and disposal of waste.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and certificates:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience Competencies and Skills:
- At least one (1) year of housekeeping experience in a senior living healthcare or hospitality setting (hotels) is preferred.
- Prior maintenance experience and general maintenance skillset are a plus including drywall repair and texturing carpentry painting and floor care.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses as well as cleaning equipment is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
