Diamond Rehab is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team full-time at Sabine Retirement in Many Louisiana. We welcome candidates who are licensed have applied for licensure or are preparing to apply.
Job Summary
The COTA works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients develop recover and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. This role focuses on promoting independence safety and overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans created by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide therapeutic activities to enhance motor skills coordination strength and function
- Support patients with daily living tasks such as dressing grooming eating and mobility
- Observe document and report patient progress and responses to treatment
- Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding patient status
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises adaptive equipment and daily living strategies
- Maintain a clean safe and organized therapy environment
- Follow all facility policies safety regulations and ethical standards
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current state licensure (or in process) as a COTA
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- CPR certification (preferred/required)
