Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile Systems Operations Specialist to own the technical plumbing of our product development lifecycle. This role combines hands-on technical execution with operational ownership to ensure seamless data flow reporting and tooling across teams.
This is a 6-month maternity leave coverage role with a dual focus:
- Driving high-priority technical execution (requirements exchange and automated reporting)
- Providing critical support for Jira administration and device management processes
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end import/export processes between internal teams and external partners using Jama Connect
- Develop and maintain custom scripts (Python JavaScript or SQL) to automate:
- Traceability matrices
- Maturity reports
- Leverage the Jama REST API to streamline reporting and data workflows
- Serve as the gatekeeper for requirements schema mapping validation and data integrity
2. Jira & Issue Management (Process Ownership)
- Manage and optimize Jira workflows issue types permissions and custom fields
- Ensure team compliance with issue-tracking protocols
- Troubleshoot tool vs. process friction points to maintain engineering efficiency
3. Device Management & Asset Tracking
- Act as the primary point of contact for device management processes within Jira
- Manage the lifecycle of hardware prototypes and test equipment

Core Qualifications
- Jama Connect Expertise (Highly Valued): Advanced knowledge of item types relationships and data exchange
- Jira Administration (Must-Have): Experience managing workflows hierarchies permissions and custom fields at scale
- Scripting (Must-Have): Proficiency in Python VBA SQL or similar for API integration and automated reporting
- Asset/Device Management (Required): Experience with hardware or device tracking systems and underlying data logic
- Onsite Presence (Required): Ability to work onsite in Irvine 3 days per week
Technical Skills
- Experience with Jama Connect and Jira (Cloud)
- Strong programming skills in Python (Pandas NumPy) SQL or similar tools for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with REST APIs and data integration workflows
