Job Summary
Position: Greenskeeper 1 Wage Class: Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Assistant Superintendent(s) Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents the Greenskeeper I performs safely the basic and semi-skilled tasks and project work related to maintaining a golf course and its facilities.
Essential Functions:
1. Operates the necessary equipment to mow/trim greens tees collars and approaches.
2. Operates equipment and performs duties involving sand bunkers and filling divots.
3. Aids storm clean-up aeration sod laying brush/debris removal.
4. Performs duties using a rotary mower fly mower edger string trimmer backpack and pull behind blower as well as hand tools.
Marginal Functions:
1. Helps with other departments when assistance is requested.
2. Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
3. Maintains a clean break room and locker area.
Intellectual Demands:
1. Ability to follow oral and written directions
2. Willingness to learn and adapt to new job tasks.
3. Proactive in individual and group task settings
Physical Demands:
1. Has the ability to lift products/equipment up to 50 lbs. above shoulders.
2. Has the ability to push/pull bend and climb when required.
3. Has the ability to stand long periods of time and walk at steady pace for up to 5 hours.
4. Operation of equipment continually for a period of 3-5 hours.
Environmental Demands:
1. All work is performed outdoors rain or shine.
2. Exposure to extreme heat and bitter cold temperatures.
3. Occasional exposure to chemicals electricity fumes and moving parts
4. Occasional exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
