The Computer Engineering Intern will join a collaborative CAD and design enablement organization that supports Microns semiconductor development efforts. The team focuses on advancing EDA build flows verification methodologies and automation powered by artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency reliability and scalability of CMOS memory builds.
This internship is a software development and support role centered on semiconductor and EDA design flows and tools. The position emphasizes both traditional CAD software engineering and the application of AI machine learning and LLMbased agentic systems to automate optimize and enhance design workflows across design physical layout and verification environments.
- Design develop enhance and debug inhouse and commercial EDA tools and CAD automation flows supporting memory design and verification.
- Apply AI and machine learning techniques to improve EDA automation predictive analytics and design optimization.
- Define and implement LLMbased agentic systems for intelligent tool orchestration documentation generation and design assistance.
- Collaborate with design and process teams to integrate AIdriven solutions into production design flows.
- Provide documentation training and enduser support for new tools methodologies and workflows.
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering Computer Science with circuits/VLSI coursework or a related field with a graduation date no earlier than September 1 programming fundamentals with indepth experience in Python.
- Ability to develop CAD software and AIenabled automation flows supporting semiconductor design.
- Knowledge of Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills.
- Experience or strong interest in AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with LLMbased applications and agentic development including tools such as Claude Code ChromaDB or MCP development.
- Experience with additional programming languages such as SKILL C C Java Perl or Lisp.
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts and model deployment practices.
- Exposure to assessing architectural and hardware constraints for integrating ML into design workflows.
