Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong backend development experience and expertise in modern Java (preferably Java 21). The role involves building scalable APIs working with complex data systems and contributing to AI-driven solution development.

Required Experience & Education

7 10 years of hands-on software development experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)

Core Technical Skills (Java & Backend)

Strong experience in Java backend development (Java 8) preferably Java 21
Expertise in:
- Multithreading & concurrency
- Collections generics lambda expressions
- Java I/O
Hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot and Dependency Injection
Strong experience in designing & building RESTful APIs
Experience with build/test tools:
- Maven / Gradle
- JUnit / Mockito / FitNesse

AI & Innovation

Experience in AI-based R&D including:
- Prompt engineering
- Evaluating AI tools/models
- Rapid prototyping and validation
- Integrating AI capabilities into applications

Database & Data Skills

Strong experience with Relational Databases (MS SQL or similar)
Advanced SQL skills for:
- Data analysis
- Reporting
- Troubleshooting
Experience working with:
- XML & JSON data formats

DevOps / SDLC / Tools

Understanding of Docker containers
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar)
Familiarity with JIRA and Agile workflows
Proficiency in Git and collaborative development

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

Experience upgrading/migrating applications to Java 21 or recent LTS versions including:
- Dependency upgrades (Maven/Gradle)
- Compatibility testing
- Performance tuning
Snowflake experience
Python (especially for AI/ML or automation)
Background in Financial Services / FinTech

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
