Overview
We are looking for a Java Data Engineer to join a growing team in Phoenix. This role is ideal
for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of backend development and data
engineering building scalable data pipelines and robust systems that support business critical analytics.
You will play a key role in designing developing and optimizing data solutions ensuring
high performance reliability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing systems using
Java
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes for large-scale datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Analysts Data Scientists and
Software Engineers
- Ensure data quality integrity and availability across systems
- Work with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
- Optimize system performance and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to best practices
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Backend Engineer with strong data exposure
- Strong proficiency in Java
- Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g. Spark Hadoop or similar)
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data pipeline design
- Experience working with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL Oracle)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with big data technologies (Spark Kafka Hive etc.)
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Experience with NoSQL databases
- Exposure to containerization (Docker Kubernetes)
- Experience in Agile environments
