Job Summary
The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Companys only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified experienced and reliable Environment Officer (Fixed Term 1 year) who will:
- Provide active assistance in impact assessments to identify assess and reduce the organizations environmental risks and impacts and recommend corrective actions related to Biodiversity References Ecosystem.
- Ensure Didipio Mine environmental management practices aligns with OGC environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Key tasks and resonsibilitities:
- Timely Submission of report per activity.
- Establishment of a 2 kilometer Transect line and 2 hectares permanent monitoring plot
- Proactive reporting on environmental incidents
- Active participation in inspections audits and environmental programs
- Demonstrate OGPI values in day-to-day activities
- Effective and efficient utilization of the budget leads to successful completion of planned activities.
- Proper documentation filing monitoring and control of environmental-related records.
- Proactive identification of non-conformities to ISO 14001 within Laboratory and Monitoring team areas
Qualifications :

Educational Background:
Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Forestry
Specialization/License:
Duly registered and currently licensed Forester
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge in Environment/Forestry officer or in similar role
Background in the implementation of Biodiversity assessment monitoring system.
Knowledge:
Knowledge in forestry related activities especially in Biodiversity
Familiarity with forestry equipment and tools.
With MS Office skills
Skills:
With Geographical Information System (GIS) and Global Position System (GPS) Operation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail in conducting biodiversity assessment monitoring system process.
Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively. Abilities:
Ability to follow detailed instruction and protocols.
Capability to work independently and collaboratively within the team.
Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with colleagues.
Adaptability to change priorities and tasks in a field setting
