Job Summary

Deezers Listeners team builds the applications that millions of users rely on every day for their music experience. The team creates reliable and delightful experiences that activate retain and thrill our users. Our teams are organized into cross-functional mission-driven squads each with clear objectives and strong autonomy. Engineers Product Managers Designers and QA Partners work side by side within these squads to deliver impactful features at pace.

As an iOS Team Manager you will be the people manager for a team of iOS engineers embedded across several product squads contribute to Deezers iOS technical vision alongside senior engineers and lead one squad in close partnership with Product and Design to deliver impactful features.

 

Among your responsibilities you will:

  • Inspire drive and grow a motivated team of iOS engineers through regular 1:1s coaching constructive feedback and career development conversations.

  • Foster cohesion and collaboration across a team whose members are distributed in different product squads making sure knowledge flows and no one works in isolation.

  • Act as the engineering leader of a product squad partnering with the Product Manager to co-define objectives surface technical constraints and opportunities early challenge solutions for greater impact and drive delivery.

  • Own the technical execution within your squad: manage timelines handle dependencies escalate risks openly and partner with stack experts to validate approaches.

  • Drive team culture and rituals ensuring participation continuous improvement and follow-through across your squad and the broader iOS team.

  • Ensure quality and engineering best practices adapting working methods to team needs and project phase.

  • Collaborate with your Engineering Manager and the iOS Community of Practice to shape and evolve Deezers iOS technical vision aligning solutions across stacks.

  • Partner with Senior and Expert iOS Engineers to guide architectural choices and code quality across Deezers iOS ecosystem


Qualifications :

People Leadership:

  • A first experience managing a team of software engineers

  • Ability to build trust create psychological safety and maintain team cohesion even when your team members sit in different squads

Product & Delivery:

  • Proven experience working closely with Product Managers in a cross-functional setup co-owning objectives and planning

  • Able to connect engineering work to business goals and factor in product impact when making technical trade-offs.

  • Pragmatic and delivery-oriented able to balance ambition with realistic planning

Technical Foundation:

  • Solid iOS development background; you understand the platform well enough to make sound technical calls and support your engineers across their day-to-day challenges

  • Familiar with mobile engineering best practices architecture patterns and code quality standards

  • Able to balance a modern engineering vision with the realities of an existing codebase making pragmatic trade-offs when needed.
