Job Summary
Dispatcher
Pay Rate:$24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Overtime: Required as needed
Work Environment: Office and warehouse setting
Job Dates: April 27 2026 through December 26 2026
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Dispatcher to support daily transportation freight coordination and delivery operations. This role is responsible for scheduling routes assigning drivers monitoring shipments and ensuring on-time compliant service across the operation.
The Dispatcher serves as a key communication point between drivers customer service teams internal departments airports and other offices. This position requires strong multitasking ability urgency organization and a commitment to maintaining shipment integrity including cold chain handling and time-sensitive freight coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily delivery routes and schedules to maximize driver efficiency and service performance
- Communicate with drivers management customer service teams and other offices regarding shipment activity and delivery expectations
- Coordinate freight recovery and tender activity at local airports
- Break down freight upon return to the office
- Monitor driver activity to ensure pickup and delivery commitments are met
- Maintain accurate dispatch notes shipment updates and clearance information in dispatch systems
- Monitor clearance status and enter updated notes for customer service and origin offices
- Ensure special pickup and delivery instructions are communicated clearly and followed correctly
- Monitor all on-hold shipments for export and delivery approval
- Monitor and update outbound flight tracking activity
- Support packaging preparation and cold chain supply readiness for client pickups
- Maintain cold chain requirements for shipments arriving from airports or held in the office pending clearance or delivery instructions
- Ensure proper shipment storage at airlines and within the office
- Assist leadership team members with daily operational needs and workflow support
- Monitor and respond to individual and group email accounts in a timely manner
- Report complaints concerns delays and operational issues to management immediately
- Maintain all required training records qualifications certificates and testing by due dates
- Follow all company policies regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Cold Chain and Packaging Responsibilities
This role requires proficiency in cold chain management including:
- Gel pack and packaging preparation
- Gel pack and packaging refurbishment
- Gel pack and packaging configuration
- Monitoring temperature-sensitive shipments
- Maintaining shipment integrity during handling storage and delivery coordination
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 to 3 years of related dispatch logistics transportation shipping warehouse or operations experience preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively
- Professional demeanor and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to lift packages up to 75 pounds safely
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional afternoons evenings weekends and overtime as needed
Work Environment
- Combination of office and warehouse work depending on daily operational needs
- May be required to enter walk-in refrigeration and freezer units temporarily thermal apparel provided
- May be required to enter trucks temporarily during loading and offloading of freight
