Job Summary
The School of Chemistry Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) conducts research in organic and inorganic chemistry physical chemistry chemical engineering and bioengineering to tackle new challenges in chemicals manufacturing healthcare energy food and other important sectors.
The Das Lab in CCEB is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow (RF) to join their team in the field of sustainable catalysis and enzyme design. The role focuses on developing novel biocatalysts and synthetic pathways through cutting-edge research. The successful candidate will contribute to impactful projects while gaining exposure to advanced methodologies in synthetic biology and catalysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in conducting research projects with team members to ensure completion of deliverables.
Lead the design construction and optimization of synthetic biological systems and enzyme engineering workflows.
Execute advanced molecular biology techniques including DNA manipulation PCR and molecular cloning.
Conduct protein expression purification and characterization using methods such as spectrophotometry HPLC and SDS-PAGE.
Design and synthesize target compounds.
Conduct laboratory experiments for the synthesis of target compounds including purification and characterization using techniques such as NMR MS FTIR GC and HPLC.
Optimize synthetic routes and troubleshoot any challenges encountered during synthesis.
Analyze experimental data maintain meticulous records and contribute to manuscript preparation for high-impact journals.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in Chemistry Chemical Biology or related discipline.
Experience in synthetic techniques and analytical instrumentation.
Good written and critical thinking skills with proven track record of research publications.
Strong oral communication and presentation skills.
Competency in data analysis plotting and interpretation manuscript drafting
Ability to work independently and in a team excellent organizational and time management skills
