Job Description:
As a Snowflake Data Engineer you will serve as the primary administrator and technical lead for an enterprise Snowflake data platform combining platform operations with advanced data engineering responsibilities. You will ensure secure highly available and cost efficient data services while designing optimizing and governing data pipelines that support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer Snowflake environments ensuring platform uptime upgrades and vendor coordination.
- Configure Snowflake security including role-based access control and permissions.
- Design and implement DataOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines ingesting transactional data into Snowflake.
- Translate data architecture designs into optimized schemas and transformations.
- Implement automated data quality checks cleansing and validation processes.
- Optimize performance latency and cost efficiency of Snowflake workloads.
- Configure and monitor cost controls including resource monitors and budgets.
- Produce architecture documentation design artifacts and operational reports.
Required Skills Experiences Education and Competencies:
- Proven senior-level experience administering and engineering Snowflake data platforms.
- Active Snowflake certification.
- Strong experience designing and optimizing ETL or ELT data pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with DataOps CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
- Expertise in Snowflake security governance and access control models.
- Experience with cloud-based data architectures and analytics environments.
- Strong understanding of data quality management and performance tuning.
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder collaboration.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $50.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills experience location and industry.
