Sentara is hiring a Radiation Therapist at Sentara Brock Cancer Center in Norfolk Virginia.
Sign on Bonus up to $15000 offered for qualified candidates!
Shift: Treatment hours can vary anywhere from 6am -730pm. No call.
Overview
Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to:
Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D IMRT SRS/SBRT)
Deliver brachytherapy treatment
Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment such as immobilization treatment and
protection devices
Reviewing patient records for accuracy
Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
Maintaining patient records reports and files
All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire.
Education
- Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED. * Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.
Certification/Licensure
- Required to pass boards within 6-months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire
Experience:
- Prior experience strongly preferred
- Varian and Aria equipment and Elekta HDR unit experience strongly preferred
