OVERVIEW:

This position would manage day-to-day operations of the Keck Microscopy Center. The RSE would provide imaging analysis to center users and help support research projects. This researcher will broadly support research at the intersection of cell molecular and developmental biology using quantitative imaging tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

50%: Maintain operate and provide training for optical microscopy equipment and image analysis software. Maintain the facilitys microscopy equipment and regularly check the performance of the optical systems and perform necessary alignment and calibrations.

35%: Support research projects through the application of quantitative imaging tools.

15%: Provide core administrative support (logging billing) related to the the operations of the imaging center.

REQUIRED:

Bachelors degree in Biological Science Physics or a related field and four years of experience with operating maintaining and troubleshooting fluorescence-based light microscopes in a researchsetting.

Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.

DESIRED:

PhD in Biological Science Physics or a related field.

Minimum of four years of dedicated experience in wide-field and confocal microscopy.

Solid background in applying a wide range of imaging and imaging analysis techniques in biological systems including cell and tissue samples.

Familiarity with conventional and machine learning based image processing approaches.

In-depth knowledge of principles and application of microscopy including confocal microscopy.

Skills in developing and implementing policies and training programs for microscope systems. Strong interpersonal skills to work with multiple users.

Compensation Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$80244.00 annual

Pay Range Maximum:

$95004.00 annual
