Job Summary
Position Title : GM Manufacturing
Business Function : Nutrients

Job Responsibilty Level : Strategy (AGM/DGM/GM)
Location : Meerut (Uttar Pradesh)
Job Pupose :
To lead and manage end-to-end nutrients manufacturing operations ensuring optimal production efficiency high-quality standards and strict compliance with regulatory and safety norms. The role is responsible for driving strategic initiatives enhancing process efficiency optimizing resource utilization and overseeing plant operations maintenance and inventory management to achieve organizational goals of productivity cost efficiency and product excellence
Key Accountabilities :
1. Operation Excellence
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plant operations using modern concepts like Industry 4.0 Lean TPM Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement standardization waste reduction and productivity enhancement measures.
- Lead initiatives for process automation digitalization and best practice adoption to enhance operational efficiency.
2. Strategy & Planning
- Ideate and implement strategic visions (Long term & Short term) to create and improve production quality and labor utilization throughout the facility.
- Plan and execute best practices in plants & warehouse and inventory control at the various units
- Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of all continuous operational and improvement activities.
3. Production Operations Management
- Ensure achievement of production targets aligned with Supply Chain & Sales forecasts.
- Reduce cycle time and improve plant productivity.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and manufacturing standards.
- Ensure compliance with product quality specifications.
- Improve yield and process efficiency.
- Optimize plant capacity utilization drive operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
4. Environment Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with facility standards and all Health Safety and Environment guidelines.
- Promote a culture of safety discipline and accountability.
- Maintain statutory documentation and inspections readiness.
- Lead zero-accident culture initiatives.
5. Budget Management & Cost Optimization
- Budget and manage manufacturing cost structures by developing and maintaining operational expenses within budget allowance and investigate cost-reduction measures
6. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between production R&D sales and senior leadership.
- Present operational performance reports KPIs and improvement plans to top management.
7. People Leadership
- Build and mentor high-performing teams ensuring skill development across units/plants
- Drive employee engagement performance management and training initiatives.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelors/Master degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering
Must Haves :
Industry Experience 1820 years of experience in the manufacturing sector preferably in Chemical / Fertilizer plants with proven expertise in managing production and maintenance functions.
Plant Operations Expertise Hands-on experience in end-to-end plant operations including production maintenance utilities and process optimization.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge Strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulations including Factory Act Labour Laws Pollution Control Fire Safety Water Compliance and relevant ISO standards & certifications.
Operational Excellence Proven exposure to and implementation of productivity and quality improvement tools such as Kaizen TPM TQM 5S and Lean practices.
Facility & Process Understanding In-depth understanding of plant layout design material flow optimization and efficient material handling systems.
Quality Management Strong experience in quality planning quality systems and implementation of mistake-proofing techniques such as Poka-Yoke.
Communication & Analytical Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders. Proficient in data analysis for product performance evaluation and decision-making.
