The job of Van Driver is done for the purpose of transporting students over scheduled routes and/or to/from special excursions; ensuring vehicle operation is in safe operating condition; and ensuring safety of students during transport loading and unloading from vans.
Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior; assesses incidents complaints accidents and/or potential emergency situations; assists students and other passengers; attends meetings trainings etc.; cleans assigned vehicles both interior and exterior; conducts emergency evacuation drills; drives school van/s; fuels assigned vehicle (e.g. oil water fuel etc.); performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g. fluid levels tire pressure exterior condition etc.); prepares documents and reports (e.g. field trip reports incident reports inspections records passenger misconduct mileage logs student counts etc.); reports observations and/or incidents (e.g. discipline accidents inappropriate social behavior etc.); responds to inquires (e.g. students parents other school personnel etc.); supervises students and other passengers during transit; assists other personnel as may be required.
Qualifications: Experience desired. Alcohol and Drug Test;Criminal justice fingerprint/background clearance; Random Drug Testing; Ability to read write and communicate clearly in English.
25 - 40 hours depending on route.
