BEHAVIORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
As part of Alameda County Health theBehavioral Health Department supports people with Medi-Cal and withoutinsurance living with serious mental illness and substance use conditions alongtheir path toward wellness recovery and resiliency. We provide servicesthrough a network of contracted mental health and substance use providers andadminister the States resources and training for behavioral health providerscase managers and other healthcare professionals. We advocate for our patientsand families and create space for personal engagement in their care.
We are outpatient specialists for mentalhealth services for older adults and youth substance use providers andtreatment program specialists advocates for quality improvement and patientsrights and psychiatric and integrated health care providers.

THEPOSITION
Under administrative direction directsplans organizes and oversees the implementation of the Countys alcohol andother drug (AOD) treatment system of care; provides direction to the Countyoperations and services that monitor and support the system; and performs otherrelated duties as required.
This is a single position class thatreports to the Deputy Director Behavioral Health Care Services. The incumbentis responsible for coordinating the administrative fiscal and programmaticoperations of all services and activities as it relates to AOD.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum professional requirementsfor admission to the competitive assessment process include:
Education:
Possession of masters degree from anaccredited university in Public Administration Clinical Psychology SocialWork Psychiatric Nursing or related behavioral science.
And
Experience:
The equivalent of four years ofmanagement experience in the delivery of alcohol drug and mental healthprogram services which included program planning grant and contactadministration budgeting and supervision.
License:
Possession of a valid California MotorVehicle Operators license.

EXAMINATION COMPONENTS
Theexamination will consist of the following steps:
1) A review ofcandidates applications to verify possession of minimum requirements. Thosecandidates who possess the minimum requirements for the classification willmove on to the next step in the examination process.
2) A review ofcandidates Supplemental Questionnaires to select the best qualifiedapplicants. Those candidates selected as best qualified will move on to thenext step in the examination process.
3) An oralinterview examination which will be weighted as 100% of the candidates finalexamination score. The oral interview examination may contain situationalexercises.
CANDIDATES MUST ATTAIN A QUALIFYING RATING ON EACHPORTION OF THIS EXAMINATION.
