Job Summary

We are a leading UK-based Chartered Accountancy firm with an established and growing back-office operations center in Lahore. We are looking for an experienced UK Practice Accountant who can hit the ground running.

This is not a "trainee" role. We need a professional who deeply understands the UK accounting ecosystem HMRC compliance and practice workflows. You will handle UK clients end-to-endfrom messy bookkeeping to final year-end accountsworking directly with UK management and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Final Accounts & Tax: Prepare year-end accounts for Ltd companies and sole traders from Trial Balance to finalization including Corporation Tax and Self-Assessments.

  • VAT & HMRC Compliance: Prepare and submit VAT returns handle various VAT schemes and manage basic HMRC correspondence.

  • Bookkeeping & Management Accounts: Maintain precise records using Xero/QuickBooks perform complex reconciliations and prepare monthly management reports to support client decision-making.

  • Payroll & CIS: Manage basic payroll (RTI submissions) and maintain Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) records.

  • Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for UK clients via phone and email handling queries professionally and independently.

  • Process Optimization: Utilize AI tools (ChatGPT Claude automation scripts) to improve data extraction and delivery efficiency.



Requirements

Non-Negotiable:

  • Direct UK Practice Experience: Minimum 25 years specifically working for UK accountancy firms from Pakistan.

  • Exclusions: Candidates with only local (Pakistan) US or Canadian accounting experience will not be considered.

  • Compliance Knowledge: Thorough understanding of UK GAAP HMRC processes and strict filing deadlines.

Technical Skills:

  • Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Xero or QuickBooks and strong Excel skills.

  • Preferred Tools: Experience with Dext Hubdoc Capium or Engager is a major plus.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English for professional UK client interaction.

  • Tech-Savvy: A modern mindsetcomfortable using AI and automation to move beyond manual data entry.
