Job Summary

Domestic Considerations RSDs: The post requires a high attendance level. The working pattern involves weekdays and weekends during modular and consolidated courses. Army Reserve post based in Ballykinler Northern Ireland with some travel and overnight duty required.

Position Role: Platoon Commander ATU (NI).

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform the duties of a Platoon Commander delivering Army Reserve Basic Training (BT) Common Military Syllabus (CMS) Future Soldier (FS) Reserves.
  2. Lead Platoon Permanent Staff and conduct all reporting functions within MS windows.
  3. Key responsibility is to PLAN LEAD and SUPERVISE Army Reserve Basic Training
  4. Conduct Duties as Range Conducting Officer (RCO)
  5. Delivery Fieldcraft and Battle Lessons in a Platoon Context as an Exercise Conducting Officer (ECO)
  6. Fully conversant and compliant with all aspects of Basic training either leading or supporting its delivery.
  7. Create Recruits Report Books and supporting Company Commander on G1/G7 aspects.
  8. Lead Recruits and inspire individual achievement as per the AITC code of practice for instructors.
  9. Undertake any additional tasks as required by the CoC.
  10. Maintain regular engagement with own cap badge ensuring the individual remains SQEP within CEQ.
  11. Provide Duty Officer cover over specified periods.
