Account Executive Individual and Group Benefits

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Account Executive Individual and Group Benefits to join a team at a well-established family-oriented insurance agency. This role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong background in producing and servicing individual health group benefits and ancillary insurance accounts. The successful candidate will take over an existing book of business manage small to mid-sized accounts and contribute to the growth of the agency.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $55000 - $65000 (depending on experience) commission on larger group accounts
  • Benefits: Competitive benefits package 401(k) paid time off professional development opportunities etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and service an existing book of business including individual health group benefits and ancillary insurance accounts (e.g. Medicare life insurance).
  • Quote and renew new and existing business with a focus on small to mid-sized group accounts (20-50 employees).
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients including walk-ins ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the book of business through cross-selling and new client acquisition.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak periods such as Open Enrollment.
  • Utilize EPIC software to manage client accounts and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licenses: Active Life & Health Insurance License required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of account management experience in the insurance industry with a focus on benefits.
  • Proven ability to produce and service individual and group benefits accounts.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills especially during high-demand periods.
  • Proficiency in EPIC software or similar agency management systems is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a small close-knit team.
  • Leadership potential is a plus with the ability to take on additional responsibilities as the agency grows.
