The Role

Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager the Electrical Design Engineer will focus on developing innovative electrical solutions for a multinational client base. The role requires delivery of projects on time and within budget while managing complex technical scopes.

You will work across a broad range of projects contributing to the design and commissioning of state-of-the-art automated equipment used in the manufacture of life-saving medical devices.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop new electrical designs and concepts

• Evaluate and interpret customer specifications

• Select appropriate components and materials for electrical systems

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations implementing risk mitigation measures where required

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers software developers project managers and customers to deliver integrated solutions

• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting to validate performance and functionality

• Perform electrical qualifications (EQs) machine power-up checks quality checks and provide project support

• Set up and commission machines following power-up

• Provide technical input to estimation procurement commercial and bid teams

• Participate in project meetings and deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders

• Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practice

Qualifications & Experience

• Third-level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering completion of an electrical apprenticeship or related discipline

• 35 years experience in an electrical design role or relevant electrical systems exposure

• Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD EPLAN)

• Knowledge of automated machine design specification and development

• Exposure to robotics motion control machine vision and pneumatics is advantageous

• Ability to generate technical documentation

• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with experience troubleshooting complex electrical issues

• Self-motivated with high initiative and the ability to work effectively within multifunctional project teams
