We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to join our team for a hospital assignment in Toronto.
Job Description
Are you a caring and reliable PSW passionate about delivering high-quality patient care Join our team and make a meaningful impact in a hospital environment by supporting patients with their daily needs and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing grooming dressing and mobility
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team
- Work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN)
- Follow individualized care plans and hospital protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed
- Respond to call bells and emergency situations
- Assist with patient transfers ambulation and positioning
- Support meal service and feeding when required
- Maintain a safe clean and respectful environment for patients
Requirements
- Valid Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (within 612 months)
- Up-to-date TB Test
- CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Excellent teamwork and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- High level of professionalism and compassion
- Experience in medication assistance is an asset
- Certifications such as NVCI and GPA are considered assets
