The US Vehicle Integration team at Mercedes-Benz is pivotal in establishing the brands technological leadership in the US luxury market. The team works collaboratively to drive innovation by translating US customer feedback into impactful propositions focusing on software-defined vehicles and thorough testing across various domains including infotainment connected car E/E systems and BEV/HEV charging technologies. Together with supporting Mercedes-Benz North America vehicle workshops and operations their efforts ensure seamless customer experience that uphold Mercedes-Benzs high standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Defect Management & Analysis services during validation cycles ensuring all reported issues are systematically analyzed and validated.
- Work closely with Release Management international QA teams and Project Managers to analyze identify and schedule defect fixes.
- Drive all defects identified during validation cycles to closure ensuring each defect is well-defined supported by data and assigned to the appropriate parties for triage and resolution.
- Lead the Governance Model for Defect Management to ensure timely resolution and accurate status reporting for the US market.
- Support retesting of fixed defects by participating in QA activities as needed.
- Engage with Project Managers to determine test activity schedules and scope aligning Defect Management support timelines.
- Coordinate with Release Management to monitor test environment and cloud infrastructure stability and communicate both planned and unplanned IT infrastructure outages.
- Share planned outages and defect backlogs with Project Managers and QA teams locally and globally to assist with testing prioritization.
- Participate in meetings to communicate the status of urgent and high-priority defects highlighting any progress impediments for management escalation.
- Deliver high-quality data-driven Defect Management reports and maintain effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.
- Lead defect escalations during meetings providing statistics and reports on aged tickets and defects.
- Actively participate in global workshops presenting ideas and innovations identifying gaps in current tools and processes and representing the interests of the US/CAN markets.
- Continuously improve Defect Management processes and tools/applications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support task forces and drive resolution of urgent and high-priority tickets with responsible stakeholders.
- Provide support for defects identified by third-party testing and manage their resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (electrical controls computer science mechatronics etc.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Telematics/Infotainment Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Telematics Systems including Head Unit Telecommunication Module User Interfaces and Cloud Services. Knowledge of wireless communication technologies.
- Ability to analyze and interpret diagnostic logs to trouble shoot issues. Understanding of QA testing and validation methodologies.
- Information Systems Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Defect Management systems and tools.
- Ability to travel 10 to 15% including domestic and international business trips for Workshops meetings and testing events.
- Valid US Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree with emphasis in Computer or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in Testing and Validation / Defect Management at another OEM
- Process automation skills
