As a laboratory assistant you will be a member of a diverseagile team responsible forbiological specimen receipt identification verification processing and addition you willperform a variety of clerical processing and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory filing stocking receiving shipments and cleaning. You will actively partner with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds experiences and perspectives. This position is located at the Superior Drive Support Center where immediate parking is available.

Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in this position before becoming eligible to apply for other positions within Mayo Clinic.
**This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship; Also Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must Obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) certification for the delivery of specimens to off-site locations after hire.

- Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology/Mayo Collaborative Services (DLMP/MCS) employees that have been in their current lab/position for less than 2 years must attach an early release approval from their supervisor.
- Internal applicants must attach their 3 most recent performance appraisals.
- Knowledge of laboratory functions and medicalterminology preferred.
- Sciencebackground preferred.
- 1-2 years medical experience preferred.
- Ability to stay organized prioritize and shift gears in a busy environment.
- Conscientious of details and strict safety requirements for handling chemicals reagents and infectious agents.
- Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Experienced withcomputers keyboarding and telephone operations.
