DescriptionThe Accounting Manager plays a critical role in operational accounting and the seamless integration of newly acquired companies within the Testing Inspection and Certification industry. This role manages the accounting workstream for all M&A activity ensuring acquired entities are aligned with U.S. GAAP IFRS corporate policies and consolidated reporting standards. The position supports monthly close reporting team leadership and process improvement while partnering across multiple corporate functions.
This role combines operational accounting with structured integration work to support the companys acquisition-driven growth model. The position requires strong technical accounting skills effective team leadership and cross-functional collaboration to standardize processes and ensure the successful onboarding of newly acquired entities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and participate in monthly quarterly and annual close activities.
- Review journal entries reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Ensure accurate high-quality financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Support consolidated reporting and audit deliverables.
- Lead coach and develop Staff Accountants fostering learning accountability and collaboration.
- Lead the accounting workstream for all acquisition integrations.
- Manage onboarding of acquired entity accounting teams and ensure consistent adoption of corporate policies.
- Maintain and improve accounting integration playbooks checklists and timelines.
- Coordinate with M&A FP&A Treasury and Operations to ensure smooth and aligned integration outcomes.
- Support ERP onboarding and promote system and process standardization across acquired entities.
- Identify gaps in financial data processes and controls within acquired entities and ensure timely remediation.
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes workflows and internal controls.
- Identify issues quickly and drive cross-functional resolution.
- Support special projects and system improvements.
QualificationsRequired Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA CMA or MBA preferred.
- 5 or more years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibility.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP IFRS and internal control principles.
- Experience with ERP systems; system migration exposure preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.
- Ability to manage and improve accounting processes.
- Ability to research accounting issues and prepare supporting documentation.
- Ability to maintain legal and regulatory compliance.
