Cloud Infrastructure / Cloud Platform Engineering Lead (MultiCloud Enablement)
Role Description
This role supports and evolves BNYs enterprise cloud infrastructure as the organization expands from a predominantly Azure-based footprint into a true multi-cloud operating model with increasing Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) adoption.
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Lead is responsible for enabling consistent secure and operable cloud platforms across Azure OCI and GCP ensuring teams can safely deploy and run workloads regardless of cloud provider. This includes defining common architecture standards operating models and automation patterns that allow BNY to scale new cloud workloads without fragmenting controls tooling or engineering practices.
This role sits at the center of BNYs cloud evolution balancing existing Azure maturity with the next phase of growth in Oracle- and GCP-led workloads.
Cloud Environment & Platforms
Enterprise hybrid and multi-cloud environments including:
Microsoft Azure (primary / incumbent platform)
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for emerging and strategic workloads
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for platform data and AI-driven use cases
Multi-region regulated cloud architectures supporting global business units
Secure landing zones and shared services designed for cross-cloud consistency
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Multi-Cloud Standardization
Terraform as the primary Infrastructure-as-Code standard across Azure OCI and GCP
Design and ownership of reusable Terraform modules patterns and guardrails
Consistent provisioning configuration and lifecycle management across clouds
Integration of security policy-as-code and compliance controls into IaC pipelines
Operating Model & Platform Enablement
Define and govern a single cloud operating model that works across multiple providers
Enable teams transitioning from Azure-native delivery into OCI- and GCP-based workloads
Ensure parity in core capabilities (identity networking security monitoring) across clouds
Partner with security networking and compliance teams to avoid cloud-specific silos
Container & Delivery Platforms
Kubernetes as the standard orchestration layer across clouds
Docker for containerized workloads
CI/CD pipelines supporting repeatable infrastructure and application delivery in a multi-cloud environment
Responsibilities
Lead the evolution from an Azure-centric cloud model to a sustainable multi-cloud platform strategy
Architect and govern Terraform-based IaC supporting Azure OCI and GCP
Enable delivery teams adopting OCI and GCP by providing standardized platforms patterns and guardrails
Serve as the senior technical authority for multi-cloud architecture design decisions and trade-offs
Establish KPIs SLIs and SLOs that apply consistently across cloud providers
Partner with cloud vendors to define roadmaps service scope and operational expectations
Drive proofs of concept for new cloud services and translate them into repeatable platform capabilities
Recruit and mentor cloud engineers with a cloud-agnostic platform-first mindset
Required Qualifications
10 years designing and operating enterprise cloud platforms
5 years in senior architecture or technical leadership roles
Strong hands-on experience supporting multi-cloud environments
Deep Terraform expertise used across more than one cloud provider
Experience operating Azure-heavy environments while enabling expansion into OCI and GCP
Proven ability to lead cloud adoption in regulated or security-sensitive environments
Preferred Qualifications
Financial services experience
Experience standing up new cloud platforms alongside an incumbent provider
Strong understanding of cloud capability parity and operating model design
FinOps and cost governance experience across multiple cloud vendors
Required Experience:
