ATCO Structures is seeking an Electrician Quality Assurance (Auditor QA) with strong quality and building code expertise to act as the electrical authority across our modular manufacturing and construction operations.

This role is ideal for a seasoned electrician who enjoys owning code compliance setting electrical quality standards and mentoring teams while also applying quality assurance principles to prevent deficiencies before they reach the field.

In this role you will play a key role in maintaining quality excellence identifying improvement opportunities and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a construction and manufacturing environment.

This is a full-time permanent role based in Calgary AB.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Quality Oversight:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for Building Code interpretations ensuring all activities align with current provincial and federal standards.
    • Establish and enforce quality benchmarks across electrical mechanical and architectural disciplines to maintain consistency.
    • Inspections: Conduct regular walk-throughs to verify that workmanship meets technical specifications and quality requirements.
    • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential quality risks or technical gaps before they lead to non-conformity or project delays.
    • Cross-Functional Liaison: Collaborate with supervisors and trade leads to ensure quality standards are integrated into the daily production workflow.
  • Training & Improvement:

    • Hands-on Mentorship: Provide real-time coaching to teams and tradespeople ensuring they understand the why behind quality standards to prevent errors before they happen.
    • Skill Development: Identify gaps in team knowledge and lead informal training sessions or toolbox talks to improve technical proficiency across disciplines.
    • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work side-by-side with supervisors to resolve non-conformities treating every error as a learning opportunity for the crew.
    • Championing Quality Culture: Act as an approachable subject matter expert fostering an environment where team members feel comfortable asking for guidance on complex code requirements.
    • Feedback Loops: Establish a supportive feedback system where teams can suggest practical improvements to quality procedures based on their field experience.
  • Compliance: Conduct internal checks/audits and project reviews. Identify non-conformities and issue Corrective Action Reports (NCRs) with recommended solutions.

  • Documentation Management: Ensure all quality plans (PQP ITPs) and inspection records are accurately implemented monitored and filed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Master Electrician or Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician with 57 years of relevant experience in commercial or residential setting.

    • Strong understanding of building codes technical specifications and quality requirements.

    • Proven ability to interpret architectural electrical and mechanical drawings.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a high attention to detail and the ability to work independently.

    • Valid drivers license and a clean driving abstract.
