The role

Our Land Use Planning team is seeking a full-time Land Use Planner to collaborate closely with Council our community the development industry and government agencies to deliver sustainable and well-considered land use planning outcomes across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a range of high-impact projects including finalising the draft Local Environmental Plan preparing the MidCoast Development Control Plan and Contribution Plans and assessing site-specific rezoning proposals.

In this role you will also provide strategic planning advice to a diverse range of stakeholders contribute to the development of local planning strategies and support the negotiation of Planning Agreements.

Strong collaboration engagement and communication skills are essential in order to negotiate and influence outcomes for Land Use Planning initiatives across a diverse range of stakeholder groups. Demonstrated ability to problem solve and juggle multiple project timelines within regulatory and strategic frameworks will be integral in delivering innovative practical and ecologically sustainable land use planning solutions.

What youll bring

Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act and other relevant legislation.
Tertiary qualifications in town planning or other appropriate discipline.
Demonstrated relevant experience in strategic land use planning or urban design.
Demonstrated ability to undertake the full range of strategic planning projects with minimal supervision and ability to work in teams.
Highly developed communication skills and experience in effective community consultation.

Salary: Salary range $94560 - $106724 p.a. plus superannuation.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure: Permanent Full Time.
