Job Summary
Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking an Electrical Engineering Internwho wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to exceptional service for the summer.
The intern will gain experience in a fast-paced results-focused team environment while gaining valuable work experience by supporting our engineering team in maintaining and improving the reliability and efficiency of our electric distribution system. The intern will gain hands-on experience working on projects related to system planning load analysis and infrastructure upgrades that directly impact the communities we serve. This is a great opportunity to learn how a member owned electric cooperative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the analysis modeling and simulation of power distribution systems.
- Support senior engineers in performing load flow short circuit and protection coordination studies.
- Collect and interpret electrical system data and prepare technical documentation.
- Assist with electric system data analysis for loads on the electric system and update system databases.
- Assist in various equipment testing testing documentation and maintenance records as directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) to three (3) years completion toward Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree is required.
- Prior experience of system modeling drafting or mapping is preferred.
