Job Title: EEG Technician Neurodiagnostics (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit)
Location:Edison NJ
Shift: Evening Shift 5x8 Hours (3:00 PM 11:00 PM)
(Must be flexible to cover overnight shifts as needed: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled EEG Technician to perform comprehensive electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring as part of a Neurology and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). The technician will be responsible for recording monitoring and analyzing neurophysiological data for both adult and pediatric patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform EEG studies and neurophysiological monitoring procedures
- Obtain detailed patient medical and seizure history
- Educate patients and families regarding EEG procedures
- Monitor patients continuously during testing and report seizure activity
- Assist neurologists and neurosurgeons in diagnostic and intraoperative settings
- Record and analyze electrophysiological data adjusting montages as needed
- Identify artifacts and ensure high-quality data acquisition
- Perform activation procedures and assist in generating diagnostic reports
- Troubleshoot and maintain EEG equipment and monitoring systems
- Provide training and support to staff as needed
- Ensure patient-centered care tailored to diverse populations
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited EEG training program or minimum 2 years of EEG experience
- Minimum 1 year of EEG experience (inpatient and outpatient preferred)
- In process of obtaining ABRET registration
- Strong knowledge of EEG procedures and patient monitoring
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Evoked Potentials and Nerve Conduction Studies
- Familiarity with EEG systems such as Natus and Nihon Kohden
- Experience in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) or ICU settings
- Experience working with both adult and pediatric populations
