We are seeking an intellectually curious and engaging History Teacher to join a thriving Humanities department within a diverse and energetic secondary school in Walthamstow. The Role
As a History Teacher you will deliver a broad and balanced curriculum across KS3 and KS4. You will join a faculty that moves beyond rote dates and names focusing on historical inquiry source analysis and the development of powerful student voices.
Key Responsibilities:
Inquiry-Based Learning: Guiding students through the complexities of British European and Global historyfrom the Silk Roads and the Tudors to the Civil Rights Movement and the Cold War.
Source Analysis: Developing students ability to evaluate primary and secondary evidence identifying bias utility and historical perspective.
Discursive Writing: Helping students construct sophisticated well-evidenced arguments in preparation for GCSE (AQA/Edexcel) and A-Level assessments.
Inclusive History: Ensuring the curriculum reflects the diverse backgrounds of the Walthamstow community integrating local history and global narratives.

About You

The Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in History or a related field.
Has a proven track record of securing strong outcomes at GCSE and/or A-Level.
Possesses excellent classroom management skills and a talent for facilitating high-level debates.
Is an effective communicator who can inspire students of all prior attainment levels.
