We are seeking an intellectually curious and empathetic Religious Education Teacher to join a high-achieving Humanities department in Luton. The Role
As an RE Teacher you will deliver a thought-provoking curriculum across KS3 and KS4. You will join a faculty that moves beyond simple fact-learning to explore the complex intersections of faith philosophy and modern ethics with the opportunity to lead A-Level Philosophy or Ethics for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
World Religions Mastery: Teaching the core beliefs practices and diverse expressions of the six major world religions and non-religious worldviews (Humanism).
Ethical Debate: Facilitating high-level discussions on contemporary issues including medical ethics social justice the environment and conflict.
Philosophical Inquiry: Introducing students to the works of key thinkersfrom Plato and Aquinas to modern existentialiststo develop their reasoning skills.
Community Engagement: Building links with local places of worship and community leaders to provide students with authentic lived experiences of faith in Luton.
Exam Success: Preparing students for AQA or Edexcel GCSE Religious Studies focusing on evaluative essay writing and the comparison of different perspectives.
