    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. A Masters degree from an accredited college or university.
    2. A valid Arizona administrative certificate or eligibility to obtain.
    3. Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
    4. Minimum of three (3) years building level administrative experience preferred.
    5. Evidence of professional growth in K-6 instructional practices in the last five (5) years.
    6. Preference may be given to applicants who have one or more of the following:
      1. Principal/Assistant Principal of a building within the last five (5) years;
      2. Administrative experience to include staff development supervision of special needs shared decision making curriculum development and budget development;
      3. Successful grant writing experience implementation or management;
      4. Experience with the implementation of computer technology into curriculum within last three (3) years;
      5. Interpersonal and written communication skills
      6. Experience with Federal Title I programs
      7. Experience with second language programs (ELL/SEI)

    6. The principal fosters the success of all students by demonstrating professional standards and ethics engaging in continuous professional development and contributing to the profession.
    7. The principals leadership should result in acceptable measurable student academic progress based on established standards.


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    10. Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.
    11. Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff students parents and community members.
    12. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    13. Ability to understand and maintain students and parents rights to confidentiality and not violate those rights; nor discuss students in inappropriate places or with anyone not in direct contact with such individual students.
    14. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    15. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies including mandatory reporting procedures.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    To ensure the education success and personal development of each student through the sound use of leadership and supervisory skills. To actively participate in the collaborative decision making process among faculty and staff.

    1. Implement Governing Board policies administrative regulations and Arizona State Laws as they apply to the local school.
    2. Foster positive student parent and staff relationships.
    3. Make a positive contribution to the education profession and to the community.
    4. Direct the preparation and control of the local school budget.
    5. Coordinate the food services program school security transportation and special programs of the school.
    6. Supervise the delivery of instruction to students ensuring that teachers focus the district curriculum to meet student needs.
    7. Encourage and facilitate faculty and staff professional growth.
    8. Manage the proper and efficient use and conservation of all assets and resources assigned to the school.
    9. Direct and coordinate the preparation and maintenance of school records for students staff facilities and equipment.
    10. Recommend all staff for employment at the school.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

    While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to reach with hands and arms sit stand walk stoop and bend as necessary. The employee maylift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 10 pounds and could occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will read correspondence and computer screens and use the telephone.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    Indoor school building and classroom environment and ability to work outdoors during outdoor student activities. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate and may become excessively noisy at times. Will have contact with students staff and the public.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
    The Principal is directly responsible to the Superintendent. The Principal will supervise and evaluate professional and support staff personnel assigned to the school. The Principal will interact cooperatively with all administrators and other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
    WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN: VIEW ADMINISTRATIVE WAGE PLAN

    WORK YEAR: 12 Month Contract
    EXEMPTION STATUS: Exempt
