As a Packaging/Labeling Supervisor at Thermo Fisher Scientific youll manage a team responsible for ensuring clinical pharmaceutical products are packaged and labeled with the highest standards of quality and compliance. Youll oversee 20-40 employees across multiple production lines applying Good Manufacturing Principles while demonstrating our core values of Integrity Intensity Innovation and Involvement. This role combines technical expertise with people leadership as youll be responsible for daily operations continuous improvement initiatives and developing your teams capabilities. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues optimize processes and ensure timely delivery of critical pharmaceutical products that support healthcare outcomes.
Location: US - Indianapolis IN - 1223 West Morris Street
Shift schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:15 PM
Day in the Life:
- Apply Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrates and drives the Thermo Fisher values Integrity Intensity Involvement and Innovation (The Four Is).
- Supervise motivate direct and evaluate a team of Packaging Personnel
- Maintain a strong floor presence spending the majority of time actively engaging with Packaging personnel.
- Serve as a liaison between management and frontline staff ensuring clear and timely communication across all levels.
- Engage in Daily management Gemba walks tier meetings 5S and Practical Process Improvement on a daily basis.
- Maintains the packaging areas under Good Manufacturing Practices
- Oversee daily packaging operations to ensure schedule adherence while optimizing line setup and processes for improved efficiency.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies applying strong problem-solving skills to write deviations and complaints.
- Revise and develop SOPs to support quality improvements while ensuring all procedures are followed and personnel are properly trained.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Keys to Success:
- Bachelors degree and/or equivalent experience in GMP environment with 2 years supervisory skills.
- Minimum of 3 years of related GMP environment and Packaging experience
- Demonstrate strong leadership effective communication conflict resolution and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions
- Visual acuity to perform quality inspections and color vision requirements
- Must be available to work overtime as needed
- Experience using manufacturing/quality systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to implement process improvement initiatives and support operational excellence
- Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities in a deadline-driven environment
Able to work in varying temperature environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six Sigma Green Beltor Lean Experience
- Technical writing skills
