Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED)

Location:Utica NY
Shift: Night Shift 12 Hours (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a high-acuity Emergency Department (ED). The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills across a diverse patient population including pediatrics and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
  • Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care based on patient acuity
  • Manage critical conditions including stroke sepsis trauma cardiac arrest and respiratory failure
  • Administer medications IV therapies and emergency interventions
  • Operate specialized emergency equipment (e.g. rapid infusor systems temperature management devices)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely and effective care
  • Document patient care using electronic medical records
  • Float to other units as required
  • Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Active New York RN License (must be in hand)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
  • Pediatric experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • Experience with EPIC EMR system

Required Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • PALS (AHA)
  • NIHSS Certification
  • TNCC (must be in hand)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Charge Nurse experience or leadership capability
  • Experience in high-volume high-acuity ED settings
